Iceland, an amazing country filled with beautiful scenery and some of the coolest barns I have seen. Not all beautiful architecture needs to be big and grandiose - sometimes the simpler the better. I have always had a love for old barns (click here to see my post about barns in the Yellowstone area). The history, the way they blend in with the scenery, and just the cozy, comfort feeling I get when I see them. Love it!
Doors... Who knew that I would have love to photograph doors so much. The doors all around Nepal are so beautiful in the design, the color, and the historical style - they are fantastic! The design is so detailed and intricate, and the colors are bold and eye catching! What's not to love?
The architecture and heritage that is India is fascinating! Traveling around the country it is hard not to just dive into the culture and soak it all up. Architecture is a part of me, maybe it's the story behind these magnificent structures or perhaps the beauty of the design. Whatever the case I am enthralled with the history, the design, and the story behind these astounding sites and I probably always will be.
Travel has always been a passion of mine. It’s just recently that I have been able to combine this passion with my career. Architecture fascinates me. Maybe it is because my dad is an architect. Maybe it’s because architecture around the world changes so much - from the 70 story skyscrapers of New York City to the shanty towns in Cape Town. Or maybe it’s the stories the century old walls could tell. Whatever the reason, it has always caught my eye.
People often ask me why I moved to Montana... Most people are really shocked to hear I moved here without ever having visited. I had been to several other western states, but never Montana. However, I just knew it was where I wanted to be. Having grown up in Minneapolis and going to college in Iowa, I knew eventually I was going to end up trading the plains for the mountains.
