Photographing this guest home at the Yellowstone Club was an opportunity to showcase the seamless connection between its design and the surrounding winter landscape. Arriving on a snowy day, I immediately felt the warmth that radiated from the home—a feeling I wanted to capture into every image. The neutral, earthy tones indoors felt grounded and inviting, a natural extension of the soft whites and grays outside.
I am always drawn to fireplaces - I don't know if it's the cozy feel or sense of home, I just love them. This stacked stone fireplace served as the home’s centerpiece, and my goal was to emphasize its texture and warmth in a way that would draw viewers in. The natural light streaming through the windows added depth and dimension, playing beautifully off the stone, wood beams, and richly textured fabrics. I worked closely with interior designer Bill Peace of Peace Design to highlight the thoughtful placement of unique antique pieces that brought history and authenticity to the space. These elements complemented the clean, intentional architecture by Faure Halvorsen Architects, whose design shaped spaces that felt open yet intimate. Collaborating with both the interior designer and architect on location allowed me to ensure that every image captured the spirit of their vision.
Highline Partners’ craftsmanship was evident in every detail, showing a dedication to quality that made each space feel intentional and personal. And the art pieces—tasteful, Western-inspired, yet timeless—complemented the home’s character without overpowering it. Every element worked together to tell a story of comfort and care, and on this snowy day, I couldn’t have asked for a more fitting setting to showcase the design vision. I am honored and excited to see this cozy cabin featured in Mountain Living, where its story of rich textures and thoughtful design comes to life.
