I recently had the pleasure of photographing a stunning cabin in McCall, Idaho, alongside the talented Maren Baker of Maren Baker Design. The home was recently featured in Mountain Living Magazine. Huge congratulations to Maren Baker Design! As cheesy as it sounds, the journey to the cabin was nothing short of magical – the snowy landscape created the perfect winter wonderland backdrop. The drive alone was a reminder of why I love photographing mountain homes so much.
Once I arrived at the cabin, I was immediately drawn to the way Maren had blended bold colors with the natural beauty of the surroundings. The cabin's modern design was complemented by vibrant hues that stood in striking contrast to the snow outside, creating a space that was both relaxing and energizing.
What I love most about architectural photography is the ability to capture the essence of a space. Every home has a unique vibe, and my job is to help translate that through the lens. In this case, the cabin exuded warmth and comfort, and I worked closely with Maren to ensure that every shot showcased that relaxing atmosphere. From the soft light filtering through the windows to the way the bold colors popped against the snowy backdrop, we made sure to highlight the contrast between the interior's vibrancy and the serene winter landscape outside.
Maren was an absolute joy to work with. We quickly became fast friends, and our collaboration made the shoot even more enjoyable. Her vision and expertise in design made it easy to capture the cabin’s unique character, and I loved being able to contribute my perspective through the camera. Together, we brought the space’s energy to life, and the result is a collection of images that truly reflect the warmth, style, and beauty of the cabin.
