The rustic look is here to stay folks!  Personally I love rustic touches added throughout a home.  Who wouldn't love a design that emphasizes rugged, natural beauty,  especially homes deep in the woods or perched high on a mountain?  Being an architecture photographer in Montana, I have come across all different forms of rustic.  I used to think rustic only meant heavy and dark textures.  However, the contemporary rustic has emerged bringing a new, light meaning to the word rustic.  There is something so welcoming and wonderful about a cozy rustic home.  From the welcoming fireplace to the raw natural elements, the rustic look is a timeless style that will stick around for some time to come.  

Sometimes the entire home has taken on the style while in other homes there are only subtle hints of  rustic design. The  feel not only comes from the  architecture but from the interior design, as well.  Big textures, natural and solid fabrics, and understated seating all express the rustic style that is a staple in mountain homes.
