The great room - this is the room made for welcoming & entertaining guests, for relaxing, or simple, easy family time. As an architectural photographer in southwest Montana, I have had the privilege to photograph some amazing homes and with amazing homes come amazing great rooms. This room is the essence of what the rest of the home is going to bring. From dark & cozy with large stone fireplaces to open & airy, with floor-to-ceiling windows, this is my favorite room in the house to photograph.  Here is a sampling of a few spectacular great rooms from recent photo shoots from Yellowstone Club, Big Sky, & Bozeman, Montana.

I love this home!  Pearson Design Group  did a phenomenal job designing this modern mountain home.  Looking out this window not only do you see the stunning views of the Spanish Peaks but it also looks out over the spacious deck below.  The views from this great room do not disappoint.

This is another Reid Smith Architects  home.  Situated on the Yellowstone Club  golf course, this home has amazing views of Lone Peak and the Spanish Peaks.  The walls open all the way up to the patio and the floor-to-ceiling windows are awe-inspiring.  This is a great home for entertaining!

I love the large beams and the barnwood accents in this home.  The open floorplan creates the perfect entertaining environment.  The french doors go right out to the spacious patio overlooking the Black Bull  golf course.

This Locati Architects  designed home with the custom rock and wood timbers creates the coziest environment!  This great room with its large fireplace is very welcoming after a day out on the Yellowstone Club  ski slopes.

The epitome of rustic - I love the old feel of this guest home.  While I was photographing this home I learned it used to be an old brothel that the owners moved out on to their property.  Wow… if these walls could talk!
